Live DJ sets - DJing Stream: Lossless Audio for DJs, Venues, and At Home Concerts
· DJing
Remote DJ sets go fully lossless: bit-perfect 24-bit/48kHz audio delivered over HLS with ALAC, plus At Home Concerts, where fans buy a ticket and hear the live set from their living room in studio quality.
Remote DJ performances just grew up. A DJ in Berlin plays for a rooftop bar in Miami. Another spins from Tokyo for a gym in London. A third broadcasts from her Paris apartment, and tonight a few hundred fans are listening from their living rooms, each one holding a ticket. All of them hearing lossless, studio-quality audio that goes well beyond radio, streaming platforms, or DAB. That is what Live DJ sets - DJing Stream makes possible.
What is new
The first version of DJing Stream connected DJs to venues with broadcast-grade audio. Three things have changed since, and all of them are worth your attention. • Lossless delivery over HLS with ALAC. Streams now reach listeners in ALAC, Apple's lossless codec. The sound stays bit-perfect at 24-bit and 48 kHz, and because it travels over standard HLS it plays reliably on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac.• At Home Concerts. Venues are no longer the only audience. A fan can buy a ticket to a live set and hear it at home, in the exact studio-quality sound the artist is playing.
• Promotion on Twitch and Mixcloud. Stream the same set to your own Twitch channel and to Mixcloud Live, straight from the app.
The problem with current solutions
Until now, remote DJ performances meant compromise. Venues had to accept compressed, degraded audio, the kind you get from consumer streaming platforms. DJs could not see their audience. And finding the right DJ for tonight was a logistical headache of booking and scheduling. We built Live DJ sets - DJing Stream to change that.Browse live DJs, pick one now
Here is what makes Live DJ sets - DJing Stream different for venues: you do not have to book in advance. Open the app, browse DJs who are streaming live right now, preview any of them for 10 minutes, and connect to the one that fits your vibe. No scheduling, no waiting. If you like what you hear, make an offer and you are live. If you find a DJ you love, you can build a regular relationship and even set up a residency. But spontaneous discovery is built into the platform.Audio quality that leaves everything else behind
Here is something that might surprise you: for the DJ-to-venue link, Live DJ sets - DJing Stream sends 35 times more audio data than typical streaming platforms, and over 25 times more than the best DAB radio broadcasts. While most services compress music down to 64 kbps, and even premium DAB stations max out around 88 kbps, DJing Stream delivers uncompressed PCM audio at 2.3 Mbps to venues. That is a 48 kHz sample rate, 24-bit depth, stereo. No compression artifacts. No quality loss. Your audience hears exactly what you are playing: every detail, every nuance, every drop.Lossless on every Apple device, thanks to HLS and ALAC
Getting studio-quality sound to a venue's mixer is one thing. Getting it to thousands of phones, tablets, and TVs without wrecking the quality is another. That is where ALAC comes in. ALAC is Apple Lossless. It is bit-perfect, so the audio that comes out is identical to what went in, with zero lossy compression. No AAC, no MP3, no Opus shortcuts. We wrap that lossless audio in HLS, the same delivery method behind most professional streaming, so it just works on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac. There is a small trade-off, and we made it on purpose. Listeners hear the set with roughly 10 to 15 seconds of delay, in exchange for rock-solid playback. If your Wi-Fi hiccups, the stream reconnects on its own and picks up where it left off instead of dropping you. Stable beats instant. At Home Concerts: their set, your living room
This is the part that changes who gets to be in the room. With At Home Concerts, an artist can put on a live, ticketed show and play it straight to fans at home. There is a dedicated At Home Concerts app for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro, and the audio is the same lossless ALAC stream described above. Here is how it works for a listener: • The artist sells tickets wherever they like, using their own checkout such as Stripe, Gumroad, or PayPal. You get a ticket code.• You open the At Home Concerts app and sign in with Apple. No password to invent, no email form.
• You redeem your code once, and it is tied to your account. One ticket covers up to two devices at the same time, so the phone in your pocket and the Apple TV in the lounge can both play.
• The concert shows up with a countdown to start time. When it begins, it goes live and the lossless audio starts playing.
• When the set ends, the artist can leave you a short message and a link, for example to buy the album you just heard. A few honest details. The first release is audio-only, which keeps the focus on the sound. Artists keep their money: there is no in-app purchase, so they sell tickets on their own terms and only pay their payment processor's fee. We never touch the transaction.
Your sound system deserves world-class DJs
Venues invest serious money in sound systems: quality speakers, proper acoustics, professional amplification. But what is the point of all that hardware if the audio source is compressed to a fraction of what your equipment can deliver? Too often, premium sound systems end up playing background playlists or compressed streams that never let the speakers show what they can do. Live DJ sets - DJing Stream changes that. Uncompressed audio means your speakers finally have something worthy to play. And with access to DJs from around the world, you are no longer limited to local talent or whoever happens to be available. A club in Lyon can feature a DJ from Detroit. A beachside bar in Bali can stream sets from Ibiza. Your investment in sound finally pays off.The same technology behind live sports broadcasting
Ever wonder how a football match in Qatar reaches viewers in Paris with perfect audio? Broadcast contribution links, the backbone of live global television. Live DJ sets - DJing Stream brings that same class of technology to a simple macOS app, with no expensive professional transcoders required. Apple Silicon's processing power makes it possible. What used to demand racks of broadcast equipment now runs on your MacBook or Mac mini. Even a $250 refurbished Mac mini M1 handles broadcast-grade streaming without breaking a sweat. Automatic packet retransmission means that if any data gets lost in transit, it is resent before you notice. An adjustable buffer, anywhere from 100 ms to 5 seconds, absorbs network fluctuations and makes reliable long-distance streaming possible. Your audience never hears a dropout, whether they are across town or across the world. We made a deliberate choice: reliability over minimal latency. A slight delay is fine. Dropped audio is not.See your audience, show your performance
Audio is the priority, but for the DJ-to-venue link, visual connection matters too. Live DJ sets - DJing Stream includes real-time video feedback between DJ and venue. DJs can see the crowd react. Venues can display whatever the DJ chooses to broadcast: their performance, a music visualizer, the view from an exotic location, or the crowd at another club. The visual layer is yours to customize. Here is something unusual. Our audio bitrate is actually higher than our video bitrate, on purpose. Most platforms do the opposite. We cap video bandwidth below audio because sound quality always comes first. Video and audio run on completely separate streams. If video stutters, your audio stays perfect. And if you prefer audio-only streaming, just toggle video off to save resources. Clubs can also extend the experience by rebroadcasting to secondary partner venues. A flagship location streams to satellite bars or terraces, all receiving the same broadcast-grade audio.Promote your set on Twitch and Mixcloud
Go live in DJing Stream once and the same set can also play on Twitch and Mixcloud Live. Venues and ticket holders still get the lossless stream. Everyone else finds you where they already listen.
- Twitch. Your own channel, with the stream title taken from your set. You can switch on city shout-outs in chat as listeners join from around the world.
- Mixcloud Live. Broadcast on your own Mixcloud channel with your stream key, or on DJing's channel once you have bought streaming hours. Audio goes out at 320 kbps.
- End screen and L-shape banner. Both carry a QR code to your DJing.com live page, so a viewer can find your page in one scan.
Promotion streams are free for your audience. Ticketed shows get a 15-minute free teaser on Twitch and Mixcloud, then a ticket slate pointing to your ticket page. You keep 100% of what venues and ticket buyers pay you.
Built for DJs, not borrowed from streamers
If you are a DJ looking to stream, Twitch and Mixcloud are good places to be found, but neither was designed for professional audio. Twitch rewards on-screen presence over audio craft, and its audio is compressed to a fraction of what your mixer puts out. Mixcloud is more music-focused, but it is built for headphones and laptop speakers, not club PAs.
Live DJ sets - DJing Stream was built for the part those platforms skip: connecting DJs to venues and listeners with audio that arrives exactly as it left your mixer. Use Twitch and Mixcloud to get discovered, and DJing Stream to get paid.
