Derived from the flagship V10-LF but 30% smaller, the V5 hits what many reviewers are calling "the sweet spot" between power and accessibility. ## What Makes the DJM-V5 Special? The V5 introduces several world-first and exclusive features that you won't find on any other mixer - not even its bigger siblings: ### Cross-Pass Filter (XPF) - V5 Exclusive This brand-new filter type sits between a low-pass and high-pass filter. It removes the mids while keeping the highest highs and - crucially - preserving the bass . As one reviewer put it: "It leaves the power in the room while taking out the melodic elements." Perfect for creative transitions and build-ups without losing the low-end energy. ### Soft Fader Curve Mode - V5 Exclusive A subtle but ingenious feature: as you bring the channel fader down, the V5 automatically attenuates the high frequencies slightly. This creates smoother, more natural-sounding fades that feel more organic than a standard linear cut. ### SonicLink - Built-In Wireless Headphone Transmitter The DJM-V5 is the first mixer with built-in wireless headphone technology . Using NFC-style pairing, you simply tap compatible headphones (coming Q1 2027) to the mixer to connect. No more cable tangles in the booth. ### Tactile Time Knob with Physical Indents The effects time knob features physical "clicks" at quarter, half, three-quarter, and full beat positions. This allows you to dial in BPM-synced effects by feel alone - no need to look at the screen. ## Official Video Introduction Video: [AlphaTheta DJM-V5 Official Introduction](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlJMKoMrilg) ## Core Features ![AlphaTheta DJM-V5 mixer layout](https://djing.com/img/blog/alphatheta-djm-v5-review-2026.webp) - **3 Channels** with 60mm faders and per-channel compressor - **4-Band EQ** per channel for precise sound shaping - **Unified Filter** affecting all channels simultaneously - **6 Send Effects:** Short Delay, Reverb, Shimmer, Tape Echo, Ping Pong, and Echo-Verb - **Echo-Verb Effect:** Combines echo and reverb to compensate for the simplified effect chain - **USB-C Connectivity** for rekordbox and Serato - **Multi I/O** for DJ:RE app, RMX-100, and RMX Ignite - **Pro DJ Link** via Ethernet for CDJ integration - **Compact Design:** 30% smaller than the V10-LF ## Hands-On Demo Video: [DJM-V5 Hands-On Demo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntxYam8hvuc) ## Sound Quality The V5 inherits the legendary audio quality of its bigger siblings. The DJM-V5 is ideal for DJs who want flagship sound quality without the complexity (and price) of the V10. It's perfect for home studios, smaller venues, and DJs who prefer a more streamlined workflow. The exclusive XPF filter and Soft mode give you tools that even V10 owners don't have access to. As one reviewer concluded: "It hits the sweet spot. It's less scary for a lot of people than the V10, but you're not sacrificing sound quality."
